Born December 31, 1946 to Vergil Smart and Marjorie Heiser Smart in Shreveport, LA. Later the family moved to Yuma, AZ and eventually to Parker, AZ where she met her first husband Edward L Robinson. They married April 10, 1963. Eddie joined the Army and was stationed in Newcastle, WY. Suzan gave birth to her first two children, Edward L Jr and Dana Sue.
After being honorably discharged from the military, Eddie and Suzan moved to Iron Mountain, CA. Eddie worked for the Metropolitan Water District. Eddie and Suzan had two more children, Kristen Kelly and Heather Ann.
When real estate started to boom, Eddie and Suzan moved their family to Shreveport, LA. Suzan got her Real Estate license and worked for her mother and step father’s real estate company.
Eddie worked in the oil field and was later transferred to Tyler, Texas when they moved to the country in Whitehouse, Texas. Suzan loved animals so she got a horse and started riding at the local saddle club. Her children were active in FFA and raised more animals like cattle, chickens, and ducks. Suzan was one of the first female members of the Young Farmers Whitehouse Chapter. After 21 years of marriage, Eddie and Suzan divorced.
Suzan met Anthony “Tony” Thorne in 2000 through a mutual friend, and later married him on September 7, 2002. Tony and Suzan enjoyed life with traveling and driving their corvettes. Their favorite place to visit was The Flagship Inn on the pier in Galveston, Texas.
Suzan retired from Trinity Mother Frances after 15 years of service. She loved her job, loved to meet and help people, and she loved her family.
Suzan is preceded in death by her father Vergil, mother Marjorie, baby brother Robert, brother Jay, her first husband Edward L Robinson, and her step son Schon Thorne.
Suzan is survived by her husband Anthony Thorne, her children Edward L Robinson Jr and his wife Michelle Robinson, Dana Robinson Dudley and her husband Bobby Dudley, Kristen Kelly White and her husband David Kinsler, and Heather Ann Norris and her husband Matthew Norris, her stepson Roby Thorne and her step daughter Kim Fleming and her husband Johnny Fleming. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and five great grandchild and two more on the way.
A memorial for family and friends will be held at the Suzan and Tony’s residence March 10, 2018 from 1-3 pm.
