Services for Terry Riley will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Green Acres Baptist Church Chapel with Lee Poe officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., before the service. A private burial will take place at Fairway Garden of Memories Cemetery in Van.

Terry Lee Riley was born October 10, 1946 in Beaumont, Texas. He had been a resident of Tyler since 1995, formerly living in Van. He retired after 14 years as executive chef for Trinity Mother Frances Heath System and was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church. He was named East Texas Chef of the Year, and owned South of the Border restaurant in Van for many years. He was a private pilot, draftsman and enjoyed photography.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, René Mullins and father, L.E. Riley.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Ruthie Riley of Tyler; daughter, Tammy Herrington of Tyler; son and daughter-in-law, Rusty & Kacie Gaston of Nashville; mother, Eva Mae Riley of Athens; two sisters, Marylyn Wright of Athens and Jeanne Gage of Lindale; five grandchildren, Cassie Jackson, Kyle Shumate, Hannah Mullins, Ranger Gaston and Everly Gaston; and one great-grandson, Colton Anderson.
