December 19, 1929 - December 25, 2017

Mrs. Wilma “Billye” Marie Rogers (née Williamson), of Tyler, TX, passed away on Monday, December 25th, 2017 at the age of 91.

Billye was born to parents Joseph Allen Williamson and Edna Marie Williamson (née Hollembeck) on December 19th, 1926 in Hotchkiss, Colorado. She grew up as the fourth of five daughters and attended Borger High School.

Billye married on November 15th, 1945 in San Francisco, California, and had seven children. Billye worked as a telegraph operator in San Francisco, and later lived out her retirement in Tyler, Texas on Lake Palestine, where she lived with her grandson, Justin Holcombe. She enjoyed gardening and maintaining her beautiful garden. She loved coloring pictures of birds and landscapes, as well as building incredible country-life birdhouses.

Billye is survived by her children Diana Melton, Joana Chrysler, William Rogers, and Elizabeth Holcombe; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and her loyal dog, Sadie. She is preceded in death by her infant son, Joseph Rogers; her daughters, Carole Roberson and Rebecca Lane; her parents, Joseph and Edna Williamson; and her sisters Alice, Goldie, Jo, and Jean.

The family will be arranging a memorial service for the spring of 2018 to allow for travel of family that is far away. The family is grateful for condolences, but declines flowers and donations. Billye’s final wish, made just days before her passing, was for “everyone to love one another, always.”
