Gary Glenn Stokes
December 15, 1959 - August 21, 2017

Gary Glenn Stokes was born December 15, 1959 in Tyler, Texas. He has been a resident of Ben Wheeler for 5 years, formerly living in the Tyler area. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, and served in the U.S. Navy. He went on to obtain a bachelor's degree in education. He was a teacher at John Tyler High School, and worked at several plants in Texas. Recently, he worked as a boiler maker/pipe-fitter for Sabine Pass L&G Liquefaction Project for Bechtel. He enjoyed archery, fishing and hunting in his spare time.

Gary passed away at the age of 57 on August 21, 2017. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Fredaline Stokes and sister, Teresa Lynne Stokes.

Survivors include his wife of 9 years, Tina Arnold Stokes of Ben Wheeler; three children, Shae Stokes of Tyler, Brianna Wallace of Larue, and Braxton Stokes of Tyler; stepson, Rowdy Hall; and several grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held for Gary at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Hilliard Funeral Home.
