Donald "Don" Wayne Chambers
October 25, 1943 - February 14, 2017

Services for Don Chambers will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Hilliard Funeral Home with Bro. David McNary officiating. He will be laid to rest at Union Chapel Cemetery, Smith County. Visitation will be held at Hilliard Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Donald Wayne Chambers was born October 25, 1943 in Lindsay, California and passed away at the age of 73 on February 14, 2017. Don, or Butch as many family members called him, served in the US Army for 13 years during Vietnam. He was a skilled sharp-shooter and a very patriotic man. He had been a resident of Van since 1977 and worked as a truck driver. He attended Pruitt Baptist Church.

Don was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Chambers; parents, Frank Ervin Chambers and Stella Lee Braughton Chambers; and nine siblings.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Darlene Chambers of Van; two children, Tina Kuhn and husband Dennis of Lindale and Clint Chambers and wife, Jeanifer of Van; sister, Mary Ellis and husband, Kenneth of Wylie; eight grandchildren, Emily, Dylan, Kylie, Mackenzie, Clayton, Kaisen, Kane and MaKenzie.

Pallbearers will be Boyd Hale, Bret Hale, David Sterner, Steven Stewart, Sam Wright and Lee Huggins. Leonard Kirkham will serve as honorary pallbearer.
