Fairway Crematory Information

Fairway Crematory was established in 1991 and is owned and operated by Keith Hilliard. Situated toward the back of Fairway Garden of Memories Cemetery, the crematory is conveniently located within the peaceful surroundings of the cemetery.

Fairway Crematory services funeral homes and mortuary services all over East Texas, in addition to Hilliard Funeral Home. We take great pride in our high level of training and our high ethical standards. Staying informed on the latest cremation process, procedures and current laws is very important to us. We feel it is our duty to provide those who opt for cremation reassurance in our high level of knowledge and experience. For those who wish to witness the cremation process, we allow and even encourage visiting our facility. We would be happy to speak with you, give you a tour, and explain the process in order to give you peace of mind.

We are a member of Cremation Association of North America, OGR, hold a Crematory Operator Training Certificate and are registered with the State of Texas.

Cremation FAQs

How soon can a body be cremated?

By law, there is a 48-hour waiting period between the time of death and the time of the cremation, which can only be waived by a judge.

What documentation is necessary to authorize a cremation?

The next of kin must sign the cremation authorization form, or the deceased's appointed agent must authorize the cremation. A Power of Attorney designation ceases to be binding at death; however, we can provide you with an Appointment of Agent form, which if generated prior to death, will put a specific person in charge of funeral arrangements.

Do you perform pet cremations?

We do not cremate pets.
